My client is a specialist engineering company that designs & manufactures bespoke technical fixtures and fittings. They are seeking an experienced CNC Miller – Setter Operator to join their existing team. As a CNC Miller – Setter Operator, you will work to tight tolerances, set multi-axis machinery and ensure that produced parts meet the exact design specifications.

CNC Miller – Setter Operator Responsibilities

-            Setting multi-axis CNC Milling machines.

-            Operate multiple CNC machines across the cell.

-            Use precision measurement tools to set the machines correctly.

-            Ensure that the produced parts meet the exact design specifications.

-            Work to technical engineering drawings.

CNC Miller - Setter Operator Requirements

-            Previous experience working in a CNC related position.

-            Experience in setting multi-axis milling machinery.

-            Ability to read and work to engineering drawings.

-            Experience with CNC programming would be beneficial.

-            Must be capable of working to tight tolerances.

-            Must be a team player.

-            Measure out length and quantity of materials using Excel and mental arithmetic.

-            Ensure that production targets are achieved.

Setter Operator Requirements

Warehouse Operative Responsibilities

-            Maintain accurate stock control by processing goods in and dispatch orders.

-            Operate warehouse machinery including FLTs and scales.

-            Raise delivery notes and prepare orders for dispatch.

-            Pack orders and weight out components.

-            Update and maintain the ERP system.

Warehouse Operative Requirements

-            Previous experience working in a Warehouse Operative position.

-            Experienced in raising dispatch orders and packing products effectively.

-            Manual handling – this role involves frequent lifting boxes up to 15kg.

Test & Development Engineer 

Overview:

We are seeking a Test & Development Engineer that will be responsible for the planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of test and development activities for water based hydraulic systems and components used in waste processing applications. The role supports the verification and validation of safety-critical equipment and plays a key role in product development, qualification testing, and continuous improvement of hydraulic designs within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute hydraulic test programmes including performance, endurance, pressure, leak, and functional testing.
  • Specify and configure hydraulic test rigs, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
  • Conduct development testing to support design validation, optimisation, and troubleshooting.
  • Analyse test data, identify trends, and provide clear technical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the production of detailed test procedures, test reports, and technical documentation suitable for engineering applications.
  • Work closely with Design, Commissioning and Manufacturing functions to support product development and issue resolution.
  • Provide technical input during design reviews, FMEAs, and qualification activities.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to hydraulic system performance or test failures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test methods, equipment, and processes.
  • Ensure all test activities comply with quality standards, company procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits related to test and development activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and traceability of test equipment calibration and test results.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within both the team and test environment.

Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Degree in an engineering discipline or an apprenticeship
  • with technical qualification
  • Experience as a Test Development Engineer, with a strong focus on hydraulic systems.
  • Hands-on experience conducting hydraulic testing (pressure, flow, endurance, leak, functional testing).
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic components such as valves, actuators, pumps, accumulators, and control systems.
  • Experience writing test procedures, test plans, and formal test reports.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the use DoE and other experimental methodologies

Desirable:

  • Appreciation of quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ASME, RCC-M, or equivalent).
  • Experience with data acquisition systems, sensors, and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with FMEA, verification & validation, and qualification testing.
  • Appreciation of NI Diadem or other analysis tools

Commissioning Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to take ownership of commissioning activities across the full lifecycle of complex with bespoke engineering projects.

This is a key role responsible for developing and delivering commissioning strategies, leading testing activities, and acting as the commissioning authority across multidisciplinary teams. You will play a critical part in ensuring engineered solutions are tested, verified, and delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project and regulatory requirements.

The Role

As Commissioning Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and implement commissioning strategies for bespoke engineering projects.
  • Produce comprehensive test and commissioning documentation, including:
  • Pressure and proof load testing
  • Control panel inspections
  • Setting-to-work documentation
  • Safe systems of work
  • Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
  • Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Manage handovers between Manufacturing and Commissioning functions.
  • Lead and execute FAT and SAT activities, ensuring risk assessments, test equipment, and temporary commissioning aids are in place.
  • Identify and report non-conformities, supporting structured resolution processes.
  • Ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely, on time, and in line with project scope.
  • Support tendering activities by estimating commissioning scope, hours, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and motivate commissioning and test engineers to achieve project objectives.

What We’re Looking For:

You will bring strong technical credibility combined with practical commissioning leadership experience.

Essential:

  • HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline or higher qualification.
  • Extensive hands-on engineering experience.
  • Experience leading or managing commissioning teams.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Understanding of relevant British and European Standards (e.g. BS7671).
  • Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability in dynamic project environments.

High Voltage Battery Engineer

Overview:

We’re looking for a hands-on High Voltage Battery Engineer to work with EV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in real-world, safety-critical environments.

This is a site-based engineering role, focused on diagnosing, repairing, dismantling, and safely handling high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems (400V–1000V+ DC). You’ll act as the HV technical authority on site, ensuring work is carried out safely, compliantly, and to a high technical standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, dismantle, and rework HV lithium-ion battery packs (EV & BESS)
  • Perform HV isolation, discharge, testing, and fault-finding
  • Identify issues at cell, module, pack, and BMS level
  • Support site-based assessment, remediation, commissioning support, and decommissioning activities
  • Act as HV technical lead on site, ensuring RAMS and safe systems of work are followed
  • Write, review, and implement RAMS for HV battery activities
  • Produce technical reports, repair records, and battery condition assessments
  • Support continuous improvement of HV battery handling and dismantling processes

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems
  • Practical experience with EV batteries and/or BESS
  • Proven background in HV battery diagnosis, repair, or dismantling
  • Experience working under formal HV safety rules and permit-to-work systems
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Lithium-ion battery architecture (cell/module/pack)
